Hello,

Everything seemed to be working fine until I modified the teasers. All I did was change the first announcement and erase the second announcement when in admin area. Now I get the following when trying to go to edit my teasers.

Code:
phpBB : Critical Error

Could not query config news forum information

DEBUG MODE

SQL Error : 1064 You have an error in your SQL syntax. Check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near '' at line 1

SELECT forum_id, forum_name FROM phpbb_forums WHERE forum_id=

Line : 137
File : admin_teasers.php

I looked at the file admin_teasers.php and it looks fine to me. Did I do something wrong by deleting the second announcement? Any help on this would be great.

Hi.
The error you reported occurred because somehow forum that should be used as a news forum is not set. As you probably know, teasers section is made to display 2 news and 2 announcements teasers. While announcements are simply written by the forum administrator (administration panel, teasers section) news teasers are gathered from one of your forums. You can easily set any forum to be used as a news forum by simply choosing desired forum on administration panel (teaser section, field: news forum). Two latest posts from chosen forum will be used for news teaser. Somehow, it seems that on your forums news forum is not set and that is why you received error you reported.
Can you please check if news forum is set or not? If you did not set one, simply choose one and everything should get back to normal...

I also have to ask you one more question – which Zonemetrics version do you have?? In one of the pervious versions, there was a bug regarding one teasers related issue. If you are not running the latest version, I suggest you to upgrade to it asap...

I’m here to help you solve this problem – I’m looking forward to your reply.

Take care.

I don't think I can modify my news section. When I click on Teasers on the left side menu in administrator area, that's the error that comes up. I cannot modify my news or announcements. Do you get what I'm saying, or am I missing something. Thanks for helping me by the way.

Ok... So, as I understand, you cannot open Teasers page on administration panel?? I will try to find out what is wrong and I hope that within few hours I will be able to figure it out. As soon as I find the solution, I will send you a link for new file and all instructions.

Take care

Here I am. I think that I have found where the problem was. Please download the following file: http://www.zonemetrics.com/bug_fix.zip. Unpack it somewhere on your computer. Then read included txt file for details. I hope this will work.

Best wishes.

Okay, everything is back to working now....Thanks so much for your help, this forum is by far the best I've used, the advertising section alone is worth it.

Oh yeah, I got one more thing for you. When a moderator or admin adds a normal user to a group, that user gets an email saying, "you've been added to such and such group". In that email, there's a link that says "go here to check out the group details" and the link looks like this
Code:
http://forum.mysite.com/forum.mysite.com/krp?=3
Obviously, that link doesn't work, it says the domain twice. Any Ideas on that One, let me know.

Thanks again

I'm glad to hear that we managed to fix the problem.
Also, thanx for reporting the problem - we can't fix the problems we don't know about. I will get on the mail problem tomorrow and I think that I will solve it in no time.

Best regards

Hi.

I believe that the problem you reported was caused by line 127 in script groupcp.php.

Try to change that line (as below):

Code:
$server_url = $server_protocol . $server_name . $server_port . $script_name;

into

Code:
$server_url = $server_protocol . $script_name;

and then check it out.
I will investigate this problem more in the next few days, not only in this but in all other similar scripts. I really appreciate all info you can give me... After you change the code as I mentioned, please check if we managed to solve the problem.

Best wishes.
