ZoneMetrics team presents the 1.0.1 subversion of ZoneX forum system.
The most important feature in this subversion is inverse posting mode. After some research and statistics analyzes we've noticed that many users leave forum when they're forced to register to post topic. It's especially critical spot for new forums. Actually many new forums run down because lack of topics. On the other side if you allow guest users to create topics your forum becomes easy target for spammers. Fortunatelly ZoneMetrics team came with inverse posting mode. Find more info about this feature and other changes and fixes in the docs.
Also you can download full ZoneX 1.0.1 installation.
For those who already have installed ZoneX 1.0.0 ZoneMetrics team preapared upgrade package to v1.0.1. You should run update.php first then copy files in the tar.gz provided in this pack.
And finally if you have phpBB 2.0.18 installed, you can upgrade to ZoneX 1.0.1 by downloading phpBB to ZoneX package. Procedure is the same as for upgrade from Zonex 1.0.0 to ZoneX 1.0.1. Of course, you should backup you phpBB files and database. Then first run update.php and after that unpack archive provided in this package. Files from that archive should overwrite relevant files from the phpBB installation to provide ZoneX functionality.

Since we've found few bugs in the ZoneX version 1.0.1, and as you may know we do NOT tolerate bugs  , version 1.0.2 is available for download. No new features are added in this release but it's highly recomended to download and install this one. It's also loaded with new XPFire skin.
For those who have already installed 1.0.1 they can upgrade using zonex_1.0.1_to_1.0.2.tar.gz package.
There is the phpBB to Zonex 1.0.2 upgrade package if you choose to install ZoneX over phpBB 2.0.18.
Note that links in above post are changed to point on new version of each package file except for the upgrade file from Zonex 1.0.0 to Zonex 1.0.1. So if you have installed version 1.0.0 you should first upgrade to 1.0.1 and then to 1.0.2. |
